A few things to
know before the weekend
We know there are a lot of little details that go into a wedding weekend, so we’ve gathered a few frequently asked questions below to help make everything as easy as possible.
What is the dress code?
FORMAL ATTIRE
Gentlemen: A dark suit and tie are requested. Please note that jackets with khakis or other casual separates are not considered formal attire.
Ladies: A floor-length dress/gown, or an elegant midi-length dress, is appropriate.
A note on the weather: It is Ireland, after all, so we recommend being prepared for a little rain! Mid-September is generally mild, with daytime temperatures typically in the 60s°F (around 15–20°C). A light layer is always a good idea.
May I bring a plus one?
As much as we would love to celebrate with everyone, our venue has a limited capacity. We kindly ask that you refer to your invitation for the guests included in your party. Thank you so much for understanding!
Are children permitted to attend?
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope the advance notice gives parents plenty of time to make arrangements and that you're still able to join us in Ireland. We truly appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate together!
Do you have any dietary restrictions?
We want to make sure everyone is well cared for! When you RSVP, you will have the opportunity to share any dietary restrictions or food allergies. Please include any helpful details about severity or cross-contamination so we can coordinate with the venue and ensure you have a safe and enjoyable meal.
Which airport should I fly into?
We recommend flying into Dublin Airport (DUB), the closest major international airport to Castle Durrow. The drive from Dublin Airport to the venue is approximately 90 minutes.
Will transportation be provided?
We're currently finalizing transportation plans for the weekend and will share additional details as they become available.
Should I Rent a Car? / Getting to Durrow & Around Ireland
A car is helpful if you'd like the flexibility to explore Ireland before or after the wedding, but it isn't essential. Rental cars are available at Dublin Airport, though automatic cars can be limited, so we recommend reserving one early (particularly with the Ryder Cup in town)
For those who prefer not to drive, taxis, Free Now (Ireland’s version of Uber), private drivers, and shuttle services are also available. We'll share additional details about transportation for our wedding weekend festivities as we get closer to the celebration.
If you do plan to rent a car, just remember that driving in Ireland is on the left side of the road!
Where should I stay?
We have reserved a room block at Castle Durrow and have also recommended nearby accommodations. Visit the Accommodations page for booking information and hotel recommendations.
When should I book my travel?
If you're able to join us, we recommend booking flights, accommodations, and rental cars earlier than you otherwise might. Our wedding weekend coincides with the 2027 Ryder Cup, so Ireland is expected to be a bit busier than usual.
Will more information be shared?
Absolutely! We'll continue updating this website as plans are finalized. Please check back periodically for the latest information on accommodations, transportation, weekend events, and more.
